First look at Asus X43TA Notebook based on the AMD Llano platform

Recently, I bought a 14-inch notebook based on the AMD Llano APU. As i’m writing a review of it, I have uploaded a short video of this laptop for starters.

Preliminary impressions:

  1. Excellent value for money
  2. Plays all the latest games at medium-high settings, due to hybrid crossfire capability
  3. Battery life – 4 hours 20 min of continuous internet browsing over wifi with a USB mouse connected
  4. Very lightweight considering it packs a mean punch!

How to Create Strong Passwords that are easy to remember.

password meter

Memorizing strong password is like trying to remember the names of strangers you go across in day to day life and i am dead sure that is not easy. Picture this Ass8(659&hnG no doubt it is a strong password even passwordmeter confirms it by giving a score 100% but try memorizing those characters. Not easy right? I remember the time when life was easy, couple of months back a friend of mine had revealed his first ever password that he used for his yahoo account and it was hajam.

Mid March when IE9 was released Microsoft had boasted its 2.35 million downloads in 24 hours only to be doubled by Firefox 4 when it was released and all this seems to be a distant history. Firefox 5 was recently released and there was not much hush about it thanks to the rapid release cycle these browser manufacturers have opted for. Initiated by Google Chrome and then recently adopted by Mozilla Firefox as they are heading to Firefox 6.0 leaving users with its latest stable release Firefox 5.0 and they are planning to release Firefox 7.0 by the end of this year though some IT corporations have ridiculed Firefox for such a move.

Google is definitely on a roll as it has been under limelight for couple of weeks now after taking on facebook with Google Plus and earning “+1″ from the public, it has also decided to do a heavy makeover of most of its products from which youtube has been my area of concern and the new youtube layout with a darker theme is already a “win win” situation for dark themer’s like me and it blends well with Google Plus.

Why you should go for an AMD Llano based Fusion Laptop

amd2

Before you dwell on the title, let me fling a backdrop of my personal computing experience. My teenage-hood was bombarded with an “Unknown PC” from an Alien Planet which was inferior than our Planet Earth. Hence i asked DAD for a real pc and my uncompromising argument yielded me my first PC with an Intel Pentium 4 chip clocked @1.7GHz on an Intel 850MV motherboard with 2*128MB RD Ram and nVidia Geforce MX2 video card. Yes i was more than happy with the configuration as it was way better than what my friends had back then. Honestly speaking i had no clue about AMD processors and how they fared against Intel chips until i was enlightened about the AMD Athlon 64 processors in early 2004. As it was high time i needed an upgrade i went for AMD Athlon-X2 4200+ on ASUS M2N VM-DH, previously i had seen the advantage of going for AMD processors (socket 939) as Athlon X2 was totally compatible with older motherboards that came with Athlon64 cpu’s and i was impressed with that unlike the Blue team forcing you to upgrade the motherboard if you wanted a new CPU from their turf. So it was sealed and my first AMD A$$ kicking Athlon X2 was chosen for my next PC.

Apple is ready to unleash a successor to the current iphone4 in around September and probably name it iphone5 or 4gs and the rumors that are floating around suggest it might adopt the same processor the ipad2 has with an 8 megapixel camera. But i am not going to focus on the next generation iphone instead i’ll be talking about the cheaper version of iphone that Apple is going to use to conquer 3rd world countries. Rumour has that this new stripped down version of iphone will be around 2/3rd size of the current iphone and will wear the current generation hardware as the price of those components has gone down fit for a fresh iphone mini.

Thou shalt not sell cherry and kidney for an Apple

Apple fan

Now i know Apple have got some premium devices under their belt which even i am longing for, but the Apple fanboyism has recently hit a new high which fanatics are probably proud of. What surprises me is that they take Apple devices as the devices revealed from heaven which requires utmost devotion and everything else as demonic devices. In-fact a BBC Documentary showed,an MRI scan on an Apple Fanboy with companies images triggered those parts of the brain as images of a deity do to religious people. Some of them have even taken their fanboyism to a level where they have gone great lengths to prove their love for Apple by tattooing and even building “shrines” for some of its old devices. Couple of months back when Pope Benedict XVI said that technology poses a threat to religion, he was probably referring to apple gadgets.

Nokia N9 “meh”, A No Go!

Nokia N9

A couple of days back Nokia had unveiled NOKIA N9 to the world. A product which was in the timeline before the axing of symbian devices was announced. Nokia CEO did fulfill his promise of launching a Meego Device in 2011. So we are blessed by the world’s first pure touch screen phone without any front-facing buttons. Looking at the device you can clearly see that it has been designed beautifully just like the N8 which was praised for the built quality and its imagery and i would go on to call it a design win except it looks like a big a** nano. But you’ve to admit that the round edged, curved AMOLED 3.9 inches display device definitely turns you on and what’s unleashed within is what scares me.
